Agoura library has summer programs for all ages




The Agoura Hills Public Library at 29901 Ladyface Court will present the following summer programs for families, sponsored by the Friends of the Agoura Hills Library and the L.A. County Public Library Foundation.

A Tuesday afternoon series at 3:30 p.m. will feature: an “American Idol” Songwriting Workshop on July 7; a Mad Science Program on July 14; Rhythm of Scotland with a bagpipes performance on July 21; and One World Rhythm on July 28.

The following Saturday programs will take place at 2 p.m.: Rusty’s Rock and Roll Circus on July 18 and Stephen the Spectacular’s Magic Show on Aug. 22.

String concerts will take place at 2 p.m. Saturdays as follows: L.A. Philharmonic violinist Paul Stein, violinist Aaron Oltman and cellist David Garrett will perform “Classics, Romantics and Tangos” on July 11. The “Fireworks with Strings” concert will be on Aug. 29.

Both summer strings concerts are free and do not require reservations. The programs are for adults and music lovers ages 12 and up.

Following the performances, complimentary refreshments will be served and the musicians will meet with attendees.

Other summer activities at the library include craft programs for teens and adults, as well as book clubs for adults and children.
