The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services announces these upcoming events.

Unless otherwise noted, all events will take place at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd.

•Baby Sitter’s Training for Young Teens is for youths ages 11 to 15 to learn basic babysitting skills and techniques. The American Red Cross program also includes basic first aid and CPR skills for the child and infant.

Each student will receive a workbook, packet, handouts, and a certificate.

The workshop will be at the Agoura Hills City Hall Community Room on Thurs., July 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break.

The cost is $40 and a $30 materials fee. Bring a sack lunch and a pillow or cushion for kneeling.

•Youth dance classes will begin Sat., July 11.

The schedule is: Parent and Me Creative Movement from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. for ages 2.5 to 3.5; Twinkle Toes Ballet from 9:50 to 10:20 a.m. for ages 3.5 to 5.5; Teddy Bear Tappers from 10:30 to 11 a.m. for ages 3.5 to 5.5; Twinkle Toes Ballet from 11:05 to 11:35 a.m. for ages 4.5 to 6.5, and Hip Hop from 11:40 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. for ages 6 to 9.

Each class is six weeks long and will culminate in a miniperformance at the final class.

The cost for each session is $60.

•Basic Dog Obedience class for ages 16 and up will be Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m. from July 11 through Aug. 15.

The class will teach pet owners how to solve a dog’s bad manners, and will include leash manners, heel sit, stay, come when called, lay on the side and more.

Continuing Dog Obedience will continue working and training a dog beyond the basic obedience commands. Participants must have completed any basic dog obedience class.

Class meets Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m. July 11 through Aug. 15. The cost of either class is $60.

•Guitar workshops for teens and adults will be on Saturdays from 4 to 4:50 p.m. for ages 10 to 17, and from 5 to 5:50 p.m. for ages 18 and older from July 11 through Aug. 15.

Both classes are for beginner to intermediate students, and are tailored for individual needs.

The fee for either class is $72 and a $15 lab fee payable to instructor, James Swing, on the first day of class.

•The Summer Beach Bus program for all ages makes four round trips daily on weekdays to Zuma Beach in Malibu through Aug. 21.

Riders must have picture identification to board. The cost is $1 each way, exact change only.

The scheduled stops are Lindero Canyon Middle School, Agoura High School and Liberty Canyon/Agoura Road.

Bus schedules can be picked up at the Agoura Hills City Hall, the Agoura Hills Recreation Center or the Agoura Hills Library.

•Young teens may hang out at the Friday Night Slammer from 7 to 10:30 p.m. every Friday this summer except July 3 at the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center.

Activities might include video games, billiards, open gym play, rock climbing, a social lounge area, dodge ball and board games.

The program provides adequate supervision.

The fee is $15 payable at the door and includes pizza and drinks. Vending machines and arcade games are additional.

•Pacific Tennis Club is offering tennis classes beginning the week of June 22 for all levels, from 4-year-olds through adults.

Tournament Prep, Junior Leagues, and private and semiprivate lessons will be available.

JETPAC (Junior Excellence Training with Pacific Tennis Club) camp will run from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Each week-long session will be $85 and will include a T-shirt.
