Agoura Hills calls resident
a ‘volunteer extraordinaire’

Bob Hitner, a resident of the Liberty Canyon area of Agoura Hills, received a special city commendation last week for his effort to clean up the entrance to the Liberty Canyon tract of homes.

Hitner devotes one day each week to pick up trash at the entrance.

City officials called Hitner a "volunteer extraordinaire," whose work not only keeps the entrance of Liberty Canyon clean, but contributes to less trash ending up in the creeks and watershed.

Louise Rishoff, staff director for the state’s 41st Assembly District, an area that includes Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Calabasas, Hidden Hills and Malibu said, "Bob is one of these quiet people who sees something needs to be done and just does it."
