The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department still isn’t saying whether the case of a man who died from a gunshot wound in a quiet Agoura Hills neighborhood May 12 is being dealt with as a homicide or a suicide.

Late in the night investigators found a deceased adult male lying on the ground near the community pool at the Chateau Park condominiums in the 29600 block of Strawberry Hill Drive, sheriff’s homicide investigator Lt. Daniel Vizcarra said.

The L.A. County Medical Examiner-Coroner is continuing an investigation.

Several 911 calls were made late in the evening of May 12 with witnesses reportedly hearing several gunshots coming from the HOA community pool area.

Law enforcement continued its investigation throughout the night, and at 8 a.m. May 13 a coroner’s vehicle was seen arriving at the scene.

Vizcarra said no weapon has been found. He wouldn’t say if there are suspects.

One neighbor who lives across the street from where the body lay told The Acorn he heard multiple gunshots coming from the recreation area of the quiet condominium development on Strawberry Hill.

Another neighbor seemed visibly shaken.

“It’s a very quiet, safe neighborhood. I’m shocked,” said the person who asked to remain anonymous.
