Ace trumpeter to headline concert

Jens Lindemann, trumpeter and recent International Brass Personality of the Year, and his trio will present an Evening of Jazz Classics at 6 p.m. Sun., Aug. 26 at Calabasas Lake adjacent to the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center, 23400 Park Sorrento. Parking is available at the swim center and the Calabasas Inn.

The concert is co-sponsored by the New West Symphony,

Lindermann and his trio will perform an array of jazz classics and favorites.

Lindemann has played in every major concert venue in the world. He has performed at London’s “Last Night of the Proms,” recorded with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, played lead trumpet with the Canadian Brass and presented a solo Command Performance for the Queen of England.

Lindemann has also won major awards, including Grammy and Juno nominations, the Echo Klassik in Germany and an honorary doctorate.

The concert is free, with tickets available on a first come, first served basis.

Seating is on grass. Attendees can bring picnics, blankets and lawn chairs.
