Halloween falls on the eve of a hallowed, or sacred, holiday: All Saints’ Day on Nov. 1, which is followed by All Souls’ Day, or the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, Nov. 2.

We have not one, but two days to honor those who have gone to the Lord before us.

All Saints’ celebrates those deemed especially pious or devout or who have performed extraordinary service for God during their time on Earth.
