A new email scheme—no, it’s not the IRS

 The Internal Revenue Service and its Security Summit partners warn taxpayers and tax professionals about a new IRS impersonation scam campaign spreading nationally on email.
The agency recently detected the new scam as taxpayers began emailing phishing@irs.gov in response to unsolicited emails from IRS imposters.
The email subject line may vary, but recent examples state “automatic income tax reminder” or “electronic tax return reminder.”
