A magical day for families affected by cancer

Annual program honors Daniel Jacoby, former board member of Cancer Support Community

The Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara invites adults and children with cancer, cancer survivors and their families to the ninth annual Daniel’s Day of Magic with a magic show and snacks from 2 to 4 p.m. Sun., March 10 at 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

Dorian, a 30-year veteran magician and member of the Magic Castle, will provide the entertainment.

Families affected by cancer gather each year for this celebration in memory of Daniel Jacoby, co-founder of the Internet banking company Digital Insight and a former CSCVVSB participant and board chair. Jacoby was diagnosed with a brain tumor and in the last two weeks of his life he founded Interfaith Inventions, a nonprofit organization that creates interfaith youth camps.

After Jacoby’s death in 2004, the board of directors created Daniel’s Day of Magic as a tribute to his love of magic.
