Horse around at animal center

The Agoura Animal Care Center will be celebrating the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) national Help A Horse Day from noon to 4 p.m. Sun., April 23 at the center, 29525 Agoura Road.

The center will open its barn doors for an afternoon of celebrating the life of a horse.

Attendees can learn more about equine welfare; share the joys of owning a horse, and ask questions of veterinarians, trainers and professional transporters.

Guests can also meet people who have rescued a horse and learn they can rescue one.

Children can take part in activities and also interact with a miniature horse, goats and bunnies.

At the same time, the shelter’s third annual Cat Café will be held in the cat building. Guests can also visit the dogs and check out the wildlife area.
