Artists, show us your best work
Adults ages 18 and up can enter their work for the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley’s annual May Show running May 4 through 26.
Take-in will run from 4 to 6 p.m. Mon., May 1 at the Thousand Oaks Community Gallery, 2331A Borchard Road, adjacent to the Newbury Park Library.
The show opens Thurs., May 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The reception and awards will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Sun., May 21.
Professional judges will award first- and second-place cash prizes as well as ribbons.
The entry categories are: oil and acrylic, watercolor, photography, mixed media and assemblage, graphics (drawing, pastels, printmaking) and 3-D (stone, ceramic, wood, metal, glass).
Attendees will be able to vote for the People’s Choice Award.
The cost is enter one to two pieces per person is $35 for ACCV members and $40 for nonmembers. Art must remain through the end of the show
Hanging must be professional quality. Art must be correctly framed and ready to hang, with screw eyes and wire only; no saw-tooth hangers.
The maximum size is 3-by-5 feet. Sculptures are limited to 100 pounds.
Every artist is required to serve at least one three-hour time slot as a gallery sitter and contribute to reception refreshments.
Proceeds will cover show costs and site rental. Any profits will assist ACCV’s art projects.
Artists can pick up entry brochures at the libraries, Thousand Oaks Community Gallery or Hillcrest Center for the Arts at 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
