Performance NAPA Auto Care, the newly opened car repair shop at 621 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks, is the brainchild of former NASCAR driver Tim Huddleston and longtime West L.A. auto shop owner Tom Schmachtenberger.

A grand opening is planned for the community to tour the new site from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., April 12.

With the goal of providing residents with the highest quality of service, Huddleston works with top mechanics to offer a wide range of auto care options.

“ We consider ourselves a dealership alternative for customers looking for excellent service, high quality and a trustworthy environment,” stated Huddleston.

The one-stop shop services all makes and models of cars including exotic vehicles, trucks and fleet automobiles.

Besides auto repair, Huddleston is a champion race car driver. His interest in cars stemmed from a high school project building a race car and expanded to the development of a racing team that includes his son, Trevor.

Huddleston will move his fleet of race cars from Irwindale to the new facility in Thousand Oaks, where he will continue to offer the West Coast Driver Development Program, teaching the art of motorsports to youths averaging around 14 years of age.

Huddleston begins instruction with go-karts and then transitions into race cars as the teens develop their skills.

Huddleston plans to acquire a building across from the new auto repair shop to house the race cars and allow the community to view them and watch the mechanics at work.
