Cyclists to raise funds for recovering veterans
The Ride 2 Recovery Honor Ride will take place Sat., April 27 from the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station, 27050 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills.
The community cycling event supports returning military veterans. Last year’s event had 250 riders and more are expected this year. Four noncompetitive cycle rides will be available.
For the 100- and 62.5-mile runs, check-in will be at 6:30 a.m. with departure at 7:30 a.m.
The 40-mile ride will have check-in at 7:30 a.m. and departure at 8:30 a.m.
The 17-mile run will have check-in at 8:30 a.m. and departure at 9:30 a.m.
Early check-in will be available from 3 to 6 p.m. Fri., April 26 at Newbury Park Bike Shop, 1560-6 Newbury Road.
Ride 2 Recovery’s mission is to improve the health of wounded veterans through mental and physical rehabilitation programs that feature cycling as the core activity.
Funds raised at the Honor Ride event will benefit outdoor cycling programs and Spinning Recovery Labs around the country.
Registration costs are $75 per rider and $125 per family (two adults in the same household and all kids free). Team fees are $300 for five riders and $600 for 10 riders.
