Man arrested in Agoura for attempted murder
Deputies from the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station arrested a 27-year-old man in Agoura Hills in connection with an attempted murder in Malibu on Wednesday morning.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., Malibu/Lost Hills Station deputies responded to a call at the 27000 block of West Winding Way in Malibu regarding gunshots that were heard. Upon arrival, deputies found a 49-year-old man, also from Malibu but who's name was not released, sitting on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound to his chest.
A witness told deputies that a man in a black SUV was last seen leaving the location after the shots were heard. Later in the day, detectives spotted the vehicle on Kanan Road just south of Cornell Road in Agoura Hills. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and suspect Patrick Leach, 27, was arrested for attempted murder.
Evidence was recovered from the vehicle, and Leach was subsequently transported to the Malibu/Lost Hills Station where he is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
