Oak Park lands lacrosse awards

The Oak Park High lacrosse programs received U.S. Lacrosse’s highest honors with the selection of Tarik Ergin as Coach of the Year and Grant Consoletti as High School All-American.

Ergin, in his second season as Oak Park’s head coach, guided the Eagles to a 17-0 regular-season record and captured the program’s first 101 Coast League crown.

Consoletti, a junior attack who was the 101 Coast League MVP, led the Eagles with 71 goals and 43 assists. He has verbally committed to play Division I lacrosse at Robert Morris University.

Consoletti joins a distinguished list of Oak Park players who have received All-American honors in the past, including Steve Darrow (2005), Chad Costello (2007), Brett Zeolla (2008) and Grayson Phillips (2009).

Three All-Americans and one Academic All-American were chosen from the 15 CIF teams that compose the 101 Coast and Condor leagues, plus several club teams in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.

Also receiving All-American honors were senior attack Mackie Greason from Cate and sophomore defenseman J.J. Ntshaykolo of Thacher.

Junior attack Luke Hegeman from Westlake earned the Academic All-American award.
