Locals take home honors
Several locals stood out with invitational victories during the Ventura County Track and Field Championships last Friday at Moorpark High.
Agoura High senior Johnathan Cabral won the boys’ 110- meter hurdles race in 13.46 seconds. Cabral also won the 300 hurdles in 37.23.
Connor Stark of Oak Park secured the boys’ pole vault in 16 feet.
All three results are meet records.
Oaks Christian’s Danielle Alakija won the girls’ 400 race in 55.32 seconds. She secured first in the 200 (25.22) and helped the 4x100 and 4x400 relays claim victory.
Amy Anderson, Alex Beck, Niki MacWhirter and Jessica Pantuso won the 4x800 relay for the Lions. Ally Courtnall, another Lion, won the 100 dash (12.27).
For the Oaks Christian boys, Ishmael Adams won the 100 (10.99) while Allen Stevens won the high jump in 6 feet, 4 inches.
