OPHS wins at Shakespeare Festival
The Oak Park High School Theater Department took its production of “Julius Caesar” from October 2010 to the Chapman University Shakespeare Festival, a statewide competition of 25 to 30 high schools, earlier this year.
Alexander McKee, who played the role of Caesar, was named Best Actor at the festival.
This is the third consecutive year that OPHS has won an award at this festival.
The OPHS “Julius Caesar” production was set in 1940s New York City. A previous award winners “Merry Wives of Windsor,” was placed in swinging ‘60s London, accompanied by Beatles music. The shows were directed by drama teacher Allan Hunt.
