Area volleyball teams feeling the love in polls
Westlake and Thousand Oaks high schools are ranked eighth and ninth, respectively, in this week’s CIF-Southern Section Division I boys’ volleyball poll.
The Warriors have flexed their muscles in the early going, starting 9-2 and sweeping their first three Marmonte League matches against Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and Agoura.
Westlake has also earned impressive victories against Santa Monica, Newport Harbor, Servite and St. Ignatius College Prep of Chicago. Keats Stanley, a 6-foot-6 outside hitter, leads the way for Westlake. Teammates Taylor Tattersall, Jacob Delson and Travis Magorien are also playing well.
In the Division 2 rankings, Oak Park is fourth. Rival Oaks Christian isn’t far behind at No. 6.
Bradley Sakaida, Justin Parks, Mike Campbell, Nick Fahn and Sam Saltman are among Oak Park’s statistical leaders.
Carter Franciskovic, Jennings Franciskovic, Kyle Schoch and Kyle Sisson lead the way for the Lions.
Viewpoint of Calabasas is ranked fifth in Division 5.
