Oak Park library seeks more friends

The Friends of the Oak Park Library needs new “friends” in addition to donations of new and used books, DVDs and CDs.

Friends is the volunteer support group for the library. The group has been assisting the library since it opened.

The group needs the help of the community to continue providing donations of reading and audio visual material. Donations can be dropped off at the library during regular business hours or call the library to schedule a donation pick up.

New board members are needed. The board meets three times a year, usually in January, May and September.

The group also funds events during Summer Reading programs and activities at the library in addition to purchasing new books and media for the library collection. Members maintain the bookstore in the library, which is the primary source of grant money.

For more information on vol- unteering, call Marta Anderson at (310) 365-7172 or e-mail martamm@att.net.
