An open house in honor of David Ross, retiring member of the Oak Park Community Foundation, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sun., Sept. 26 at the home of Diane Milavetz, 285 N. Smoketree Ave., Oak Park. The public is invited.

Ross contributed 35 years of service to Oak Park. He served on the Municipal Advisory Council, OPUSD school board, Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee and the Community Foundation for Oak Park. Ross also volunteers for several local nonprofit groups.

He received the Oak Park Golden Acorn Award in 1980.
