Benefit to help fight pediatric brain tumors

Yoga Works will host a benefit movie screening and concert by Los Angeles singers and performance artists to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Fri., Aug. 18 at Yoga Works, 2475 Townsgate Road, Westlake Village.

The film “What About Me?” will be screened. Other activities include a post-film reception with refreshments and a silent auction.

Before the screening, performances will take place by Los Angeles-based actor/singer/ songwriter J.P. Morrison, singer/ songwriters Jeremy Toback and Liz Foster, vocalist Arlyn Royce and spoken word artist Rich Ferguson.

“What About Me?” is a documentary that features interviews with actors, musicians and thinkers such as Noam Chomsky, Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle, Susan Sarandon, Carlos Santana and Michael Stipe. The film covers universal topics such as God, sex, death and money and is a statement about humanity’s connection through music, creativity and society’s collective insanity, neurosis and obsession.

A suggested donation of $15 will be collected at the door.

Proceeds will help the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, a nongovernmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research, to continue its work with early detection and treatment of childhood brain cancer, support a national database on brain tumors and provide educational and emotional support for those affected by the disease.
