Oak Park teen to appear in ABC TV show
Ari Stidham
Ari Stidham, a local teen who graduated from Oak Park Independent School in January, will appear as a series regular on the original scripted television series “Huge” premiering June 28 on ABC Family.
The series was created by Winnie Holzman (“Wicked,” “My So Called Life,” “Once and Again”) and her daughter Savannah Dooley.
“Huge” is a drama about seven teens from different backgrounds attending a weight-loss camp as they embark on their individual journeys of self-discovery. The campers deal with such issues as self-esteem, friendship, rivalry, romance and body image.
The show also stars Nikki Blonsky (“Hairspray”) and Gina Torres (“Matrix”).
Ari, 17, has been active in local theater, appearing as Falstaff in “Merry Wives of Windsor” at Oak Park High School and in “Sweet Charity” at Moorpark College.
He has performed in ComedySportz and was a junior apprentice in the Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival at California Lutheran University for three years.
