New dog park to open
The new Oak Canyon Dog Park and Children’s Splash Pad play area will open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting Sat., May 29 at Oak Canyon Community Park, 5600 Hollytree Drive, Oak Park.
The ribbon cutting for the dog park will be at 9 a.m. The ribbon cutting ceremony for the park’s splash pad will be at 10 a.m. The event is free and open to the public. The opening will have free hotdogs, chips and soda, along with music by a DJ, face painting and puppy headbands for children, free snow cones, prizes, T-shirts and water toys.
Residents who bring their dog can receive a free souvenir photo.
A vendor section will provide information on pet rescue, K-9 CPR and dog licensing through Ventura County Animal Regulation.
Children should come prepared to get wet in the splash pad.
