Auction to raise funds for African medical clinics

The CareNow Foundation will host its third annual fundraising gala and silent auction from 6 to 9 p.m. Sun., May 2 at the Reagan Library, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.

The theme of the gala is SafariNow 2010: A journey for healing.

Keyboardist and composer Tim Heintz and his band will perform African-style music. Presidential Catering will serve a buffet gourmet meal.

Delanyo Adadevoh, a native of the West African nation of Ghana, will speak. He is the founder and president of the International Leadership Foundation, which works to develop leaders of integrity in Africa.

Among items available at the silent auction will be African jewelry and handmade items.

Free tours of the library will be available to gala attendees from 5 to 6 p.m.

The dress is black tie optional; colorful African attire is suggested.
