Tri-Valley League honors standouts from winter season

The Tri-Valley League had many outstanding performances during the winter sports season.
Here are the players from Oaks Christian, Oak Park and La Reina who were named all-league:
Boys’ basketball
Steven Brodie of Oak Park is the most valuable player in TVL boys’ basketball.
Oaks Christian’s Tom Roanhaus is the coach of the year.
First team: Oaks Christian’s Blair Holliday, Dillon Van Der Wal and Chass Bryan; Austin Ramljak and Cameron Stevens from Oak Park.
Second team: Oak Park’s Chris McCarthy and Ron Lee Jr.; Spencer Kier and Taylor Hange of Oaks Christian.
Honorable mention: Dan Ross, Stephen Saska and Jonathan Wening from Oaks Christian; Oak Park’s Tanner Byers.
Girls’ basketball
Seniors Lauren Varney of Oak Park and Katie Brooks from Oaks Christian are co-most valuable players for girls’ hoops.
Oak Park’s Rob Hall is coach of the year.
First team: La Reina’s Mary Kate Jankowski; Oaks Christian’s Brianna Barrett and Crystal Owusu; Brett Hall of Oak Park.
Second team: Kelsey Haines and Lindsay Courtney of Oak Park; La Reina’s Julia Violano; Meghan McIntyre from OCHS.
Honorable mention: Oaks Christian’s Beth Mounier and Alex Rice; Harper Johnson from La Reina; Sarah Bucknovitz of Oak Park.
Girls’ soccer
La Reina’s Ali Parisi is the defensive most valuable player for girls’ soccer. Kelley Johnson of Oaks Christian is offensive MVP.
First team: Ally Courtnall, Jaci Mello, Lauren Lindstrom and Brittani Gardella from Oaks Christian; Oak Park’s Erica Kim, Ciara Zeolla, Rachel Medina and Rebecca Varley; Jillian DeGennaro and Rebecca Koval of La Reina.
Second team: La Reina’s Meghan Ray, Brooke Ellias and Bailey Rohlfing; Nicolette Herdegen, Katherine Chen and Jenna Sugar of Oak Park; Oaks Christian’s Marlo Smith, Kelsey Blosser, Rachel Connors and Mandi Duncan.
Honorable mention: Oak Park’s Rebecca Mandell, Briana Mackey and Caitlin Crouse; Rachel Burrow, Katianna Tron and Bianca Deardorff from Oaks Christian; La Reina’s Jenna Collins, Whitney Gould and Jordan Jeworski.
Boys’ soccer
Oaks Christian swept the boys’ soccer awards.
Diego Calix has been named offensive most valuable player. Conor Mason is the defensive MVP, and Sebastian Alvarado is coach of the year.
First team: Oak Park’s Alec Arsht and Bryce Arenson; Patrick Harmon, Zach Rush and Chris Darling of Oaks Christian.
Second team: Oaks Christian’s Sean Hanson, Micah Borowitz, Jared Beiermann and Justin Phillips; Mike Wolverton and Toby Feldman from Oak Park.
Honorable mention: Trevor Bietz, Adam Kanizo and Stephen Zeleda of Oak Park; Michael Davis, Sean Sweeney and Max Kalp from Oaks Christian.
Girls’ water polo
Oaks Christian’s Haley Downey is a first-team choice in TVL girls’ water polo, while her teammate, Genesis Goma, made the second team.
Honorable mention players from OCHS are Katie Coyle, Elizabeth Scott and Jordan Hisel.
