Tech strategy calls for new job
      To more fully integrate technology into the Las Virgenes Unified School District, local computer guru Neil Ticktin is advising the board of education to hire a chief technology officer who will oversee tech strategies in the district. Ticktin’s Westlake-based Xplain Corp. provides technology planning services.

St. Pat’s opens boutique
      St. Patrick’s Day School will host a holiday boutique from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fri., Nov. 13 at the school, One Church Road, Thousand oaks. Cheerleaders-in-training to perform at high school football game
      GO TEAM— The Oak Park High School cheerleading team will offer a cheer clinic for students in grades K-8 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Sat., Nov. 7. Participants will learn cheers, stunts and a dance. They will perform at the Oak Park High School football game on Fri., Nov. 13 during halftime. The clinic cost is $40 and includes an Oak Park Cheer T-shirt.

Laughter will support team
      Oak Park High School Athletic Booster Club members are relying on laughter to help them support the school’s sports teams. At 5:30 p.m. Sun., Nov. 15, the club will host Comedy Night, a show and dinner fundraiser at The Canyon in Agoura Hills. Comedians Fritz Coleman and Dennis Blair will perform.
