Precious pups
      HOMELESS— This boxer mix mama was rescued from the Bakersfield animal shelter after giving birth to 12 puppies on Oct. 24. Now the mother, aptly named Precious, and her six remaining puppies are in dire need of a foster home until the puppies are old enough to adopt out. Ruff Houzen Rescue will pay all costs for the dogs’ food and medical expenses.

Animal rescue group hosts fundraiser
      The annual Pet Stop Rescue fundraiser boutique will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Fri., Nov. 13 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., Nov. 14 at 3004 Kilaine Drive, Simi Valley. The event will be hosted by Denise Esswein and feature Cookie Lee jewelry and homemade gifts. The boutique will raise funds to help find homes for abused and unwanted pets.
