      HE SHINES— Drew Spooner, an Oak Hills Elementary School thirdgrade student, is named Star Student of the Week at KnowledgePoints Learning Center in Westlake Village. The award is based on exemplary effort and overall academic improvement. KnowledgePoints is a tutoring company.

Peer counseling
      Peer counseling for grades nine through 12 is available from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Calabasas Library, 200 Civic Center Way. Teens may drop in and receive help on math, English or any school project. The program is run by the library and the National Honor Society of Calabasas High School.

      Oak Park High School was the site of one of the more than 5,000 global awareness rallies held in 180 countries last Saturday. It was dubbed the International Day of Climate Action.

Resident heads to Tufts
      Alexandria Chu of Agoura Hills has enrolled as a freshman at Tufts University, Medford/Somerville, Mass. Founded in 1852, Tufts has 4,800 undergraduate students. The school has three campuses in Massachusetts and one in France.
