Halloween bits from the ’burbs
      Halloween’s almost here— My 6-year-old son has seen “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” at least 3,000 times. That was just this month. After a recent viewing, he said, “Daddy, it’s Halloween time; we better get ready for ‘tricks or treats.’”

Spooky carnivals slated
      •The fourth annual Youth Indoor Halloween Carnival will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sat., Oct. 31 at the Oak Park Community Center, 1000 N. Kanan Road, Oak Park. The community event will have candy, prizes, game booths, science booth, face painting, Trick-or-Treat Village and free cotton candy.
