Las Virgenes school district braces for swine flu

      The ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) Ventura County Support Group will meet from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sat., Sept. 26 at the Westlake Village Library community room, 31200 Oak Crest Drive. The meeting is free and open to people with ALS and their families and friends. The group is provided by The ALS Association, Greater Los Angeles Chapter.

Screenings for prostate cancer
      September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center is offering free prostate screenings to men between the ages of 40 and 80 who have no history of prostate surgery, are not currently under the care of a urologist, and have not had a PSA screening in the last 12 months.
