Young scholar chosen for COSMOS program
Agoura High student one of 26 selected statewide
Cooper Rodgers Cooper Rodgers was selected to participate in the University of California COSMOS program this summer, a residential academic experience for talented high school math and science students.
COSMOS strives to challenge the minds of prospective scientists, engineers, and mathematicians.
The program aims to create a community of students who participate in an intensive academic experience lead by distinguished educators and scholars.
Cooper was one of 20 students selected in a statewide competition to attend UC Irvine for a month to study global change chemistry and biology.
With his two partners, Cooper presented a research project on the accumulation of heavy metals in soil.
Cooper is an incoming senior at Agoura High School.
He has a varsity letter in wrestling and is a member of Agoura High's Heal
The Bay Club.
Cooper is an intern with the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy in the office of Natural Resources and Planning.
