Day camps, dance classes offered in Agoura Hills

The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services announces these upcoming events. Unless otherwise noted, all events will take place at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd.

•Day camps will take place at Yerba Buena Elementary School. Campers ages 6 to 10 may sign up for REC Club and REC Club Caravans at Camp Agoura Hills.

REC Club is an on-site day camp from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The cost is $20 per day registered or $25 drop-in.

The schedule is Tuesday and Thursday pool play, Wednesday theme days, and indoor and outdoor camp activities.

REC Club Caravans will take place Mondays and Fridays at a cost of $35 per day registered or $40 drop-in. Children will go to various sites such as Build-A-Bear, Golf 'N' Stuff and Lazer Tag.

•The swing and salsa combo dance workshop will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sat., July 11. Dancers age 16 and up will learn basics and patterns in two partner dances.

M.C. Callaghan will be the instructor. A partner is not necessary.

•Girls Rock Day Camps will take place at Taylor's Party Place. The cost is $35 per day and a $5 lab fee.

Daily themes include Pamper Yourself, Diva Day, Hawaii Fun and Pajama Jam.

Girls ages 6 to 10 will meet Mon. through Fri., July 13 to 17 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Little girls ages 3 to 5 will meet Mon., Wed. and Fri., July 20, 22 and 24 from 9 a.m. to noon. Camp themes for little girls include Tea Party with a Princess, Mind Your Manners, and Halloween in summer.

•Rec N Roll will be at Reyes Adobe Park from 10:30 a.m. to noon Sun., July 12.

This mobile recreation unit is equipped with sports equipment, arts and crafts projects, and organized group games. Recreation leaders will be present. The program is free.
