Saying goodbye to Calabasas High

Last Thursday my daughter graduated from Calabasas High School. Her proud parents, grandmothers, and other extended family were there to cheer her own. This grand event ended a long four years of tears, and cheers, but mostly success.

I reflected sadly in knowing she would no longer be a Coyote, but smiled knowing she was moving on to Humboldt State where she will be a Lumberjack.

When she first entered Calabasas as a freshman, I dreaded her transition from middle school to high school because I thought she would never make the grade. Such was not the case, and I attribute this to the truly fine faculty at CHS.

While I do credit my daughter with working hard, and always going the extra mile necessary to maintain a more-than-acceptable GPA, I have to thank her teachers who were always available to answer her numerous questions and spend extra time encouraging her and making sure she received the instruction necessary to go on to college.

While college is another huge transition, I feel confident that my daughter has received a strong foundation to be successful, not only in school, but also in her career choice. We will miss you Calabasas. Julie Nagel West Hills
