Saying goodbye to Calabasas High
      Last Thursday my daughter graduated from Calabasas High School. Her proud parents, grandmothers, and other extended family were there to cheer her own. This grand event ended a long four years of tears, and cheers, but mostly success.

WAGS are winners
      It was with much excitement that the Westlake Agoura Girls Softball community saw the announcement by the Tri-Valley League of its All-League first and second team players. Of the 19 girls nominated, 11 of the girls participated in the WAGS softball program.

      In the letter "Feminism at Sumac" June 25, a reader bemoans the fact that all four essays selected to be read at the Sumac School graduation were written by girl students, despite scholastic awards indicating that the boys are on average equally intelligent.

Leaf blowers big polluters too
      Recently the city of Calabasas has taken a stand on smoking and banned it in our city for health reasons. While I commend them on being concerned with the health of our citizens, I think they have overlooked one of the biggest offenders: gas leaf blowers.
