Chamber awards Soteras scholarships
     TRIBUTE—Scholarship recipients Anthony Conchelos and Kate Clabeaux of Agoura High School flank Agoura-Oak Park-Conejo Valley Chamber director Alex Soteras. The annual scholarship is named after Patricia Soteras.

'Til grad school do us part
     TOGETHERNESS—From left top, Afton Williams and Cody Dixon both entered Cindy Lokitz's kindergarten class at Oak Hills Elementary School in September 1992. After 13 years in the Oak Park Unified School District, the duo graduated from Oak Park High in 2005 and moved on to college. Below, both graduated from Chapman University last month. Together, Cody and Afton were DJs on Chapman Radio during college and both plan to pursue careers in broadcast media. Afton, daughter of Evan and Suzana Williams of Oak Park, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies, cum laude. Cody received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in creative writing. He is the son of Michael and Sheri Dixon of Oak Park.

Sports camp offers tennis, golf
      The Lindero Kids Summer Sports camp is celebrating its 16th year with a daycamp experience for children ages 4 to 14. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For working parents the camp also offers pre-care and post-care.

Longtime counselor helps students grow
      A guidance counselor for 20 years at Oak Park High School, Tess Wilkoff has helped hundreds of students with issues such as class advisement and crisis counseling. She has mediated between students and between teachers and students. She has helped teens who were worried about grades and about transitioning to college.

Calabasas resident wins college's highest honor
      Jason W. Tarr of Calabasas has been named a Syracuse University Scholar, the highest undergraduate academic honor bestowed by the New York school. Tarr received a bachelor's degree in May summa cum laude with a triple major in broadcast journalism, international relations and Spanish language and literature.
