Track and field talent off to state

Several area standouts advanced to the CIF State Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday at Buchanan High at Clovis.

The following studentathletes will compete in the final state meet this weekend:

• Melissa Skiba, Oak Park, girls' 3,200 (Saturday finals).

• Travis Edwards, Royal, boys' 1,600.

• Jonathan Cabral, Agoura, boys' 110 hurdles.

• Lydia French, Thousand Oaks, girls' high jump.

• Jules Sharpe, Oaks Christian, boys' high jump and triple jump.

• Kevin Graf, Agoura, boys' shot put.

• Valexsia Droughn, Rio Mesa, girls' 100-meter dash.

• Saraina Hedgepeth, Rio Mesa, girls' 200.

• Takiyah Cotton, Mariyah Lee, Hedgepeth and Droughn, Rio Mesa, girls' 4x100 relay.

• Heyden Wooff, Camarillo, boys' 3,200 (Saturday finals).
