Westlake grads on a 'Trek for Troops' from Campo to Canada to raise money for injured veterans
      They have encountered rattlesnakes and nearly been pummeled by tumbling boulders. They've almost fallen off cliffs, walked for hours in high desert heat and withstood howling winds that unearthed their tents at night.

Lions advance; Eagles, Patriots not as fortunate
     JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers TWO HANDS—Oak Park High's Kathryn Klamecki makes the final out during the Eagle softball team's CIF-Southern Section Division III first-round playoff win over Burroughs last week. On Tuesday, OPHS lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at home against Los Altos. In the same division, Oaks Christian advanced to today's quarterfinal round with a 6-2 victory over Colton. The Lions host Glendora this afternoon at 3:15. In Division VI action, Viewpoint fell at Oxford Academy, 4-1, in Round 2.

Westlake golfers one round away from state tourney
      Westlake High's boys' golf team will participate in next Wednesday's Southern California Golf Association Regional Tournament at Murrieta. The Warriors qualified for the event by posting a fourth-place finish at the CIFSouthern Section Team Championships at Rancho San Marcos Golf Course on May 14.

      WestlakeAgoura Girls Softball will host an AllStar tournament this weekend. Games are being played at Oak View, Oak Park, Agoura, Westlake and Oaks Christian high schools, as well as Valley View Park and Deerhill Park.

      The Oak Park Eagles girls' lacrosse team capped a perfect 9-0 regular season record with two playoff wins to clinch the Southern California Lacrosse Association's high school division club league title.
