Yerba Buena school to celebrate 40-year anniversary

      A family festival and open house will mark the 40year anniversary of Yerba Buena Elementary School in Agoura Hills. The Sat., May 30, "YB40" celebration will combine a variety of activities for youngsters, entertainment for adults and opportunities for alumni, families and friends to reunite while raising money for school programs.

Curriculum council is recruiting
      The Las Virgenes Unified School District is seeking applicants who reside within the district's attendance area to serve on the Curriculum Council. Three positions are available, each for a two-year term ending June 2011.

Local student on dean's list
      Hannah Schneider,a sophomore in American University's School of International Service majoring in international studies, was named to the fall dean's list. Schneider is a resident of Oak Park. To be named to the list, students must obtain a 3.5 gradepoint average or better on their semester courses.

Register for teen program
      The Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center is accepting early registrations for the After School Teen Program for the 2009-2010 school year. The program for middle school students runs from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year.
