      Valley Thunder Basketball won both the sixth and seventhgrade championships at the recent 12th annual Seaside Tournament at Ventura College and area high schools. More than 50 teams from throughout California participated.

Janss Marketplace chooses talent search winners
      Janss Marketplace recently hosted its inaugural Talent and Model Search. The title of "2009 Beauty/Talent of the Year" was awarded to Josephine Parks. The winners in each age category were Cotton Oliver (age 2 and under), Evan Kyriazopoulos (age 3 to 4), Josephine Parks (age 5 to 8), Madi Green (age 9 to 12) and Melissa Klein (age 13 to 18).

Girl Scouts travel by trolley
     ALL ABOARD—Girl Scout Troops 1415 and 189 go on a visual scavenger hunt of Calabasas via the bright red trolley on May 6. For many of the Scouts, riding the trolley was their first time experiencing public transportation.

Youth present 'Eurofest' concert
      The Conejo Valley Youth Orchestras will present the final concert of the year, "Eurofest," at 3 p.m. Sun., May 31 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Fred Kavli Theatre, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.. The concert will feature Janet Hane and her 22 piece Accordionairs Orchestra, playing with musicians from all the orchestras.
