'Once Upon A Mattress' rolls into town

"Earth"
      "Earth" is Disneynature's feature-length film version of the BBC's remarkable 2006 "Planet Earth" series that spawned a stellar 11-disc DVD set. I can't imagine the set not being a part of every home film library in the country, in every secondary and high school's library and, frankly, every place one finds an available DVD player.

Guests solve mystery of historic murder
     CASE CLOSED—Some 250 guests solved the mystery of who killed Miguel Leonis at the April 25 performance of "The Trial of Snydley Smithe" at the Leonis Adobe Museum in Calabasas. Guests intermingled with actors throughout the evening, piecing together clues and interviewing witnesses to determine Smithe's guilt or innocence. The murder mystery whodunit included a gunfight and a raucous chase. Fortunately, the guests survived the evening unharmed.

Students vs. faculty game
      Oak Park High School presents the second annual Students vs. Faculty (Birdcage vs. Middle Age) basketball game at 7 p.m. tomorrow, May 1 in the school gym, 899 N. Kanan Road. Guests can win raffle prizes. One person will get a chance to win $100 during the halftime, half court shot contest.
