Agoura High drama students to perform 'West Side Story'
Tragic tale of love and loss
      A classic tale of young love, prejudice and cultural differences will come alive next week when Agoura High School presents the musical "West Side Story." The show is directed by Mayme PaulThompson, a professional director and choreographer who has worked in more than 100 productions and has performed on Broadway.

Agoura students win theater contest
      Agoura High School theater students received top awards at the Fullerton College High School Theatre Festival competition March 13 and 14, said Elizabeth Brasler, a theater arts teacher at the school. 'King Corn' documentary to screen in Oak Park
      The Oak Park Unified School District's Wellness Council will present a screening of "King Corn" at 7 p.m. tonight, April 23 at Oak Park High School, 899 N. Kanan Road, Oak Park. "King Corn" is a 2007 documentary inspired by "Super Size Me" and "Fast Food Nation." The movie follows two college friends who travel to the heartland to learn where food comes from.

Off to see the wizard
     BEST BUDS—Ryan Roseneheim as Scarecrow, Sydney Isaac as Dorothy and Blake Jesse as the Cowardly Lion follow the yellow brick road in A.E. Wright Middle School's production of "The Wizard of Oz." Students win National Merit Scholarships
      National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of the first group of winners in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship program. Carl Chen of Oak Park received the National Merit New York Life Family Scholarship.
