What better place for an Earth Day celebration than at the newly restored Las Virgenes Creek?

ENVIRONMENTALLY AWARE—James Bozajian, a Calabasas City Council member, looks over the saplings available for planting at the April 4 Earth Day fair on the banks of Las Virgenes Creek near Agoura Road in Calabasas. The event was staged next to a 400-foot section of the creek where on old concrete-lined flood channel was dug up and replaced with native riparian foliage. At the event, green products were put on display along with information about how to increase environmental awareness. Earth Day has its roots in 19th century Nebraska where settlers became aware of the need to populate the barren plains with more trees.
