Fallout from the con man

Thank you for your article on ex-con Bruce T. Friedman, now charged by the SEC with wrongfully taking over $17 million from investors.

I am sure that many residents are surprised and ashamed that so much ill-gotten money went into playground equipment at Gates Canyon Park

Friedman also pledged $10 million for a new L.A. children's museum, which now cannot be built. And the old children's museum was closed in anticipation of the new one, leaving Los Angeles County without any children's museum.

Removing Friedman's name from the Calabasas Wall of Honor won't compensate the victims. But perhaps Calabasas could help some of them by building a small children's museum.

The children's museum in San Luis Obispo cost around $100,000 to furnish and equip, and occupies a little over 2,000 square feet. A museum like that in Calabasas might help compensate some of the victims, and offer another imaginative opportunity for the youth of our area. Michael Harrison Calabasas
