Water district hosts student art show

Las Virgenes Municipal Water District will host an art show of 36 student posters from April 9 through 16 during regular business hours in the lobby of the district headquarters, 4232 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas.

The artworks were created by students from across Southern California who participated in a contest sponsored by Metropolitan Water District of Southern California in 2008.

The posters selected for display were chosen from thousands submitted, representing work from elementary, middle, and high school artists.

Each poster is an original creation reflecting the theme "Water is Life" to promote water conservation and wise water practices, especially important during this time of water shortages.

The district provides water and wastewater treatment services to 65,000 residents of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Westlake Village and unincorporated areas of western Los Angeles County.
