Services scheduled for Frankie Toner
      Local memorial services for Lt. Frances L. Toner IV will begin at 11 a.m. Sat., May 2 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, 1600 Erbes Road, Thousand Oaks. The gathering will be a tribute to Toner's life. Known as Frankie to friends and family, Toner grew up in Thousand Oaks and died while on duty in Afghanistan on March 27.

      Everybody has at least one story to tell, but Jean Louis Henraux's extraordinary life could fill several volumes. Henraux—an artist, a champion skier, and a man who had two popes (Pope Pius II and Pope Pius III) in his family tree—died in his sleep April 3 at his Oak Park home. He was 88.

Seventh-graders took part in activities involving vision, fine motor skills, blood sugar levels and communication, all from the perspective of a disabled person.

Girls go green at Scouting event
     ENVIRONMENTALISTS—The girls from Cadette Girl Scout Troop 546 show off their top hats at the "Girl Scouts Go Green" event at A.E. Wright Middle School. More than 300 Scouts from the Calabasas area attended the event, which featured environmentally-themed skits and "green tip" cards. All invitations, decorations and favors were made from recycled materials, or were recycled after the event.
