      After speaking with all eight Marmonte League baseball coaches, The Acorn 's sports department has come to a simple conclusion: It's impossible to predict a Marmonte champion this early in the season. Agoura grad Metzroth begins season with a bang
      University of Richmond junior Ryan Metzroth, a 2004 Agoura High graduate, was tabbed the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week in baseball following his torrid seasonopening weekend at Jacksonville, Fla. The right fielder batted .583 and had a hit in every game, including the first two home runs of his career.

O.C. lacrosse team tops OPHS
      The Oaks Christian lacrosse team won its season opener, 10-8, over Oak Park on Monday. Lion senior Kyle Stanich scored five points on four goals and had an assist, while junior Robbie Thomson posted four points on two goals and two assists.

Charger netters capture title
      The Agoura High boys' varsity squad won last weekend's Ventura Volleyball Tournament at Ventura High. Agoura, one of 20 area teams in attendance, was victorious at the same event a year ago. Middle blocker Michael Hatch, a BYU recruit, was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
