A wonderful night to remember
      We want to thank Jamie Alcroft, Ed Natan and the others who organized and pulled off an astounding fundraiser/concert last week for the Las Virgenes schools. Where else can we see Michael MacDonald, Tommy Shaw of Styx, Christopher Cross and Venice all being backed up by our local high schools' musicians?

Face these facts
      We can talk about how Westlake doesn't have enough or big enough side walks for pedestrians or that the bicyclist don't follow the rules of the road, but maybe it's time to take responsibility for our own actions.

      I cannot believe you printed Patricia Standring's letter regarding "A new theory about 9/ 11" in which she implies Republicans are somehow responsible for that horrific attack.

      I want to thank all the Agoura High School boys' soccer coaches under the direction and administration of head coach Andrew Staiano, this year's Marmonte League Coach of the Year, and assistant varsity coach Walter del Olmo.

Going to bat for the OPHS baseball coaches
      On Wed., Feb. 25 the parents of the Oak Park High School varsity baseball team met with school district administrators, OPHS Principal Andrea Mallen, Assistant Principal Stuart McGugan, Assistant District Superintendent Clifford Moore and both of the school's athletic directors, Dick Billingsley and Ann Pettit.

Plenty of blame to go around
      I am amused over recent letters that lay the blame for the economic crisis on either the Democrats or the Republicans. Fact is that regardless of which party, all of Washington, from Congress to the White House, played some major role that got us where we are today.
