Support diabetes research through poker run

The Ventura County Diabetes Awareness Run will take place on Sat., May 9. All motorcycles are welcome.

Registration will be from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Simi Valley Harley Davidson, 6190 Condor Drive, Moorpark.

Poker run will begin at 9 a.m., and the ride will end at College Park in Oxnard.

The park will open at 11 a.m. in Oxnard with lunch, live music, raffles, vendor area and diabetes informational health fair.

There will be poker run high hand and low hand cash winners. Extra hands will be available for purchase.

Participants may sign up for the chapter challenge. A traveling trophy will be awarded to the winning chapter.

The preregistration cost is $25 per rider and $14 per passenger. An event pin will be given to the first 200 riders registered.

After April 25, the cost is $30 per rider and $20 per passenger.

Walk-ins are welcome at College Park for $10 (lunch only).
