Four wise men ready to lead Agoura
Charger infielders at the top of their class
      Twenty years from now, these will be the guys with the cool cars and businessman bankrolls. For the time being, however, Agoura High seniors Kenny McCroskery, Garrett Aries, Matt Aronow and Sam Yarin have formed what must be considered one of the most intelligent starting infields in the history of local high school baseball.

AHS grad Stoffel breaks Arizona saves record
      Right-handed fireballer Jason Stoffel, a 2006 graduate of Agoura High, has set a new saves record at the University of Arizona. Stoffel, named a firstteam preseason AllAmerican by Baseball America, earned his 19th career save during the Wildcats' seasonopening victory over Sacramento State in late February.

Lions stunned in semis
South Torrance delivers a knockout blow
      A highly successful season for the Oaks Christian High girls' soccer team ended Tuesday with a 1-0 loss to South Torrance in the CIF-Southern Section Division V semifinals. It's only the second time in the last seven years that OCHS (222) has failed to make the section title game. Oaks Christian, a fivetime CIF-SS champion, also lost in the 2005 semifinals.

      It can be lonely at the top. Eight local high school grapplers have advanced to this weekend's CIF State Championships at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield.

      All season long it seemed as if the Oaks Christian boys' basketball team could do no wrong. Against Chaminade last Friday night, however, OCHS could do no right.

Viewpoint boys' soccer team can't get past Mountain View
League champion Patriots finish with 15 wins
      The Viewpoint boys' soccer season came to an end Tuesday when the Patriots fell on the road to Mountain View, 1-0, in the CIF-Southern Section Division VI semifinals. The game's only goal came from Mountain View's Diego Rodriquez in the 60th minute.

Local girls complete perfect season
     UNDEFEATED—The Agoura sixth-grade girls' basketball travel team won the Ventura County Travel League Championship by beating Ojai, 33-20, on Sunday. The Agoura team finished the season with a 16-0 record.
