MathCounts team enters state finals

The four-person team of eighth-graders Evan Bernstein of West Hills, Chris Kimes of Westlake Village, Alexa Feuerman of Tarzana, and Madi Stine of Calabasas qualified for the state championships at the regional competition held Feb. 21 at Cal State Northridge.
Evan Bernstein was also individually ranked fifth among all competitors from all of the regional schools.
MathCounts is a national math enrichment, coaching, and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement.
Winners at the local level proceed to state competitions, where the top four mathletes and top coach will represent their state or territory at the national level on May 7 to 10 at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
