Foundation spays, neuters pets

The Herman Bennett Foundation is a private nonprofit organization that aims to prevent the overpopulation and euthanization of cats and dogs in Los Angeles and Ventura counties through community education programs and financial contributions to support spaying and neutering programs.

Sandra Lozano is the foundation's new director of operations. She will promote the foundation's mission through the veterinarians involved in the financial assistance to low-income pet owners. Foundation funds will also provide booklets for education programs through churches, schools and other nonprofits in the community.

The foundation's board of directors consists of Charlotte J. Brown, secretary; Paul J. Meye, treasurer; and Mario Facione and Kimberly Mayer-Kincaid, members.
